It’s All in the Timing
“No no, you girls go on without me,” Riza urges, pushing Winry and Scieszka gently out the door. “Tell Gracia and Elysia hello for me!”
Winry kept protesting, but Scieszka, who always was more cowed by a direct order from a superior no matter how polite, got an arm through Winry’s and dragged her off. Riza gave them a last wave and then shut the door.
It wasn’t that she didn’t enjoy Halloween, Riza reflected as she poured herself a glass of water and picked up the paperback she’d laid on the table when the girls had arrived to coerce her into coming out. It was sort of…cute, she supposed, the way it let all the boys act out their little superhero fanasies.
But for her, it was really just more relaxing to settle on the couch, nestle into the cushions, and open her book…
…at least for another half hour or so, and then she was totally getting out the leather corset and the thigh-highs and the whip and showing up to Gracia’s part just late enough to make Mustang’s other eye pop right out of his head.
