“I don’t want to talk about it,” Kaidoh grumbled, rooting through his tennis bag.
“Tezuka-buchou flipped out,” Momoshiro continued, “flipped out.”
“Something came up,” Kaidoh said. He rooted through the bag harder. He must have another pair of underwear in here someplace.
“I mean, not just you,” Momoshiro just wouldn’t shut his goddamn idiot mouth and Kaidoh had to close his eyes for a minute to keep from killing him with the strap of his bag, “but Inui-senpai was missing too, and that meant that Fuji-senpai made Tezuka-buchou play doubles against the Golden Pair, and then the ichinen came running up and telling him that the equipment closet was haunted, and I don’t know what buchou found in there, but he came back all…Viper, were you working out? What’re you all sweaty for if you missed practice?”
“Kaidoh,” Inui said behind Kaidoh, and Kaidoh thought to himself that turning around would only end in yet more disaster, “I found half of your underwear, but I couldn’t get the knot out of your bandana, so it’s still tied to the pipe, but there’s a fifty-seven percent change that…”
I’ll just crawl under the bench and stay there, Kaidoh thought, wincing when his already bruised knees hit the floor.
