First Time

“Well,” Remus said. “That wasn’t quite what I expected.”

“Er, no,” Lily agreed. “I expected it to be…less messy, anyway.”

Remus looked unsure whether he should touch Lily or not.

“Heh,” he shrugged, covering his unease, “first times and all that. We can always try again. Later.”

“Right,” Lily nodded. “Absolutely…did you think it would be like that?”

“The green smoke was a surprise,” Remus admitted.

Another awkward silence ensued.

“We should clean up,” Lily sighed finally.

“Right,” Remus agreed. “I’ll get the cauldron, you put away the ingredients? The ones that didn’t explode.”

“Stupid Potions Take-Home Mid-Term,” Lily grumbled.
